Cat-Again-Vanagon: Not this time! For those of you that have been following the list for a few months you might remember the Cat-Again-Vanagon adventures. Today I broke down and agreed to take a puppy from a friend. This should solve my cat, squirrel problems by next year when they come up again in the spring months. The puppy is a mix of chow, golden retriever and traveling vagabond. She is about five weeks old, weighs about three pounds presently. She appears to have an advanced case of narcolepsy and sleeps a lot. Hopefully this doesn't indicate a defective dog. Her breed can best be described as “American Mixed Migraine”. I plan on securing the fences around my property with puppy proof small mesh wire this weekend in readiness to bring her home. The present caretaker says she’s house trained and I'm sincerely hoping that he’s right. The ultimate size of the dog is totally unknown but judging by the size of her feet she should top out at about 45 pounds like the mother. I'm hoping she likes camping and the lakes as much as I do, I look forward to leaving all my Volkswagen vehicles and parts to her in my will, so you folks might want to chum up a bit if you get to meet her.
