My '91 Westy has so much big plastic box around the base of the auto lever I don't notice heat....but, wonder if, because the large coolant lines go right by that location just under the lever, if that is the cause of the heat? Insulate?!

btw: looks like I've sold my Westy. Got chunk of earnest $ tonight and so am hoping to get the '87 Westy Syncro-Tiico in next couple days. Didn't realize how attached I'd become to my baby....hard to empty my stuff out of it so it can go to its new home ;>( Ima boob. But then, there's always all those new projects I can come up with on my new "roomate" ;>) Bob Stevens
