Subject: 91 GL Auto Tranny Problem
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

All, This past weekend, I lost reverse. I left it on the road somewhere between Watertown, NY and the putin for the Beaver River.

The tranny shifts fine through the forward speeds.

Nothing happens when you shift into reverse, when the engine is cold. Once there has been some miles under the wheels and everything is warmed up, she will shift into reverse and it works just fine. When everything is warmed up, she does drop into reverse after a brief hesitation with a big "klunk". Once the engine cools down, no reverse again.

I checked the fluid level, and it seemed fine, but I added a bit just to be sure.

Any ideas?

Bob East Haddam, CT
