Dave, et al:

> 1. Can I buy just one fog light? Most I recall seeing, are sold as pairs. > Not sure I need 2. I'm going to check my local wrecking yard for one first. Since you opened your request about almost baking into a boulder, I am going to assume you are looking for a reverse light and not a "fog" light while driving forward. If this is the case farm implement and tractor lights come singly. Why not buy a pair and have a spare? > 2. For those who have a rear fog light, do you use round or rectangle? Your choice. >Which side of the rear bumper did you mount it on? Central? > and finally, 3. > If you wired it to a switch on the dash, how'd you route the wire? Inside > the van? Outside? I'd like to make sure I avoid wiring it neat the engine > where it can melt. While installing my auxiliary driving lights recently I discovered that my '87 Westy has a wire for the rear fog light; even though it didn't come with a rear fog light, which would lead me to believe that all Westies were pre-wired for the rear light... check your Bentley wiring diagram for the appropriate color. > I read one persons note in the archives, of wiring his light to ground, and > then to his reverse light wire circuit. I like this idea a lot. The OEM fog light switch has three positions... off, back on, front on. The advantage here is that you can use the rear light for driving and general illumination with only the switch on and the transmission not in reverse. HTH.

> > p.s. if anyone has a spare fog light, let me know. And, if anyone would like > to split the cost of 2 low end lights (probably about $20 for 2) and use one > I'd gladly go Dutch. Dave...I don't mean to sound snobbish or uppity, and anyone who knows me wouldn't accuse me of being a spendthrift, BUT $10 for a spare (second) light isn't too much to spend... OR why not use two as reverse lights?
