Remember, to a large extent this isn't the dealer's fault. All of the dealers pay (more or less) the same for all of the parts. Dealers are sophisticated and they know that a $51.00 hub cap won't sell. If they could offer them more cheaply they know that volume would go up and they would make more profit. However, when the price from their supplier (Volkswagen) is high their retail price must also be high. The dealer isn't going to sell you parts below his cost. Despite what you may think, the dealers aren't stupid.
