Subject: T3 parts needed near Saarbruecken - Frankfurt Germany

Hi,

I'm travelling between Saarbruecken and Frankfurt A.M. tomorrow (Friday) around lunch and need some spare parts for a 1982 Diesel T3 transporter.

Anyone knows about good VW new or used parts places? They can't be too far from the road, as I only have about 2 extra hours to spend.

In particular I need:

068-121-405 A coolant pressure tank (current one emergency-patched with epoxy glue -- could break anytime)

251-843-704 Sliding door handle 79-85 style

171-919-803 Voltage stabilizer. (Instruments and lights all dead so I assume it's something global like the stabilizer. Another thought: Anyone knows what voltage and current it is? then I could use an off the shelf 78-00 type stabilizer from any electronics store.

If you have particular tips about where I can find this in Saarbruecken, (I'm staying at hotel Continental in Saarbruecken tonite) or on the way to Frankfurt A.M. please p-mail me at jag@cs.ualberta.ca)

Also if there's something else not to be missed along the way to Frankfurt please let me know. (Particularly something better suited to an art intested girlfriend -- the VW junkyards don't cut it there :( There's supposed to be some sculpture garden in Saarland, but I haven't been able to find out where from the locals here.

Feel free to repost this to a german list if appropriate, but direct replies to my email. I'll read email tomorrow Friday about 10 a.m. before hitting the road.

Thanks, Martin
