You spark an thought in me as well, Larry. I have just moved from CA to CO, and am shocked at how much money CO wants me to pay for various things. I thought CA was bad!! I have to re-register AND re-title the van in CO. Then, when I change my driver's license over to CO, I have to pay all sorts of extra fees because I'm coming from out of state, for the exact same amount of paperwork, endorsements (CDL and motorcycle) that an in-state person would pay about 1/2 the cost for. Pure tax-grabbing, in my opinion.

Yesterday, I received a renewal notice on my westy from CA, at my CO address (not forwarded, actually sent there originally)!! They will let me stay registered in CA for $74, with no smog and no proof of insurance required! (I have both, though). I know I risk a ticket, but there's definitely part of me that's considering it....
