Congratulations on your "new" Westy. I just sold one of those... I have had the "sticky-lifter" syndrome a few times and since switching to synthetic oil in both engine and tranny, no more sticky anything. Worked very well for me and the cold morning startups, with the engine turning over slowly, also stopped. Syn oil is "very slippery" and eliminates so much friction.
