The waterboxer Syncro linkage is very similar to the waterboxer 2WD linkage. The rear shift rod is curved differently near the tranny as the Syncro tranny is lower with respect to the body. If all you want to do is lower the 2WD tranny to the same relative position as a Syncro tranny then for shifting purposes all you need is a different bend in the rear shift rod.
