You should not have any problem if you not only get the rack but also the coupling rod that goes from the rack to the steering box. I believe that that is all you need. Also note that earlier vans that did not have power steering had larger steering wheels to give your a little more leverage. I have new manual racks (no core) for $295 (original manufacturer) if you wanted to go with new stuff for the swap. Just FYI.

My PS rack went out a few months ago, and I found an '82 in good shape in a junkyard, and am curious as to whether there are any major differences in the P.S. rack and the Manual rack?

Are they interchangeable or do I have to change other parts as well?
