Subject: A/C Compressor Clutch Bearing Noise
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

It's appearing to me that I need to replace the subject bearing. Using a long handled socket wrench as a "listening" device, that's where the noise is coming from, and while the a/c is off, and the clutch rotating. Is this a doable deal? Doesn't look like there is much to getting into it but can't get much info from Bentley, and the archives won't let me in...I keep getting a response saying I need to enter the date properly and when I do it as suggested, I get the same response. The compressor is off the '87 Syncro wasserboxer on this tiico convert. Any help appreciated. Bob Stevens '87 Westy Syncro
