Would be a good time, but you know usually it is like a constant bashing of
heads for one person or two nit picks the stuff that is being
done..................usually the nitpicker is someone that rarely does his
own service work.

I say this for I have been in a local VW club that tried this.........it was
futile, for the old school people were constantly correcting the teacher of
the class about the smallest of things.........

Here's a little thought I had once:

When we have our van get togethers  (like in the West Coast's case,
Hollister), what if we had "technical sessions", where someone or sometwo
would pick a maintenence topic to present to a reasonably sized group.  I
can think of a few subjects:

1)  Filling and bleeding the coolant system (Bill Kasper a natural for this)
2)  Digifant system - Where everything is located
3)  Bypassing sensors in a pinch to keep going.
4)  Checking the cooling fans
5)  Troubleshooting, cleaning the contacts on the door locks

Seems like a fun, informal way for the experts to share some knowledge.
