Unfortunately it works both ways. I'm on a Macintosh swap/sell list, and twice I've sent the money and received nothing in return. One seller claimed that he never received payment, the other merely didn't respond. Both for minimal sums, fortunately.

That list has banned feedback on crooked sellers/buyers!

The buyer has to just trust the seller to send what's been paid for up-front.
