Hi Ed, In my 80 Westy the white and blue are directly connected to each other with wire connectors. As in your situation, the red wires are joined by a 16 amp inline fuse. I suspect when the wiring there is corrected, your fridge and LEDs should have power. Good luck... -Tim

I am still discovering lots about the 1980 Westy I have had for nearly a year now (e.g. this weekend I "discovered" what a worn CV joint sounds like!). In my quest to get the water pump and fridge working on 12V, I have uncovered the following from under the drivers' seat: -From the water pump area: a red wire and a pale blue wire: the end of the blue wire is cut, the red wire ends with 1/2 a fuse holder -From the battery(?): a red wire and a white wire: the white wire is cut, the red one has the other 1/2 of the fuse holder. The fuse holder is corroded, the fuse is missing, and there is no indication how the white and blue wires come together.

Q1: What kind of fuse goes in here? (I will have to replace the fuse holder) Q2: Do the white and blue wires connect? Do they require a fused link? Q3: Will this finally get my water pump to run, my fridge to work on 12V and the LEDs on the sink/stove panel to light up?

Thanks in advance

Ed
