Subject: Need help with timing
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

My 84 has two marks on the crankshaft pulley. The mark nearest the engine is a small "vee" shape. The next mark further out is a larger half moon shape. Which is the timing mark?

Does the vacuum line have to be disconnected when checking the timing? Bentley doesn't indicate this. Just says to connect the two idle stabilizing plugs together.

I replaced the Hall sending unit and now the timing seems to be off. It is especially noticeable when trying to accelerate (motor seems to be loaded down). Anyone have any ideas?

I replaced the unit with a newer version since the older sending units aren't available any more.

Would appreciate a phone number if someone thinks they can help. George
