Hello all,
It is with heavy heart that I am doing this. My 1969 must be sold. I
have put a lot of mechanical work into this van, but have not
addressed its aesthetic needs. There is no rust on the van. There are
a few minor dings - what '69 doesn't? It still has the original &
working radio (AM/FM/Shortwave).
So far, I have replaced:
the clutch
brakes
carb.
battery
some front end stuff
engine
Here's the situation. The van has 89,000 original miles on it. The
odometer works on this van. My mistake was to take it to a mechanic
to do some engine work. That was back in January of this year. He
kept the van for over five months. During that time, he worked on the
engine replacing this & that, yet always it became worse. To the
point that now I need to simply replace the engine - again. The van
isn't going anywhere as the engine is all in pieces setting in the
cargo area where normally people would sit. Anyone interested in it
would have to make arrangements to tow it. As far as I know this van
has lived all of its life here in Arizona, so you don't need to worry
about all the hazards of a damp environment.
The sunroof is the original one. I even have a replacement cable set
& clips for it - if it should ever break. All the glass is in good
shape. The windshield will need to be replaced due to a chip, when
you decide to restore it, but its not something that would break a
law to drive as-is. This is not a van to part out, so I am not
accepting offers to ship this or that piece to you. I need to sell
this van of mine as whole as I can. I will answer any questions that
you may have to the best of my knowledge. I can even take a few
pictures of stuff if you need to see something particular about it. I
have a pretty good idea as to what this van is worth. But, now that
the engine is crapped out, I just can't go through it again. I am a
disabled college student, and vans aren't cheap to restore. My last
one (a 1973 Campermobile) set me back over $6,000 but was worth it -
till it was totalled. I am selling this van as-is, where-is. If you
buy it, you come tow it, ok? So, if anyone is interested, knows of
someone, etc. Please let me know ASAP.
Thanks in advance,

Happy motoring!
