The scoop is on the drivers side. I'll report in about two years when I get it running down the road. I've seen these scoops on a lot of VWs over the years .............. I figured they were for more airflow but never considered if an oil cooler was behind them or if they collected dust or rainwater for an agricultural project. Stan
