I have recently aquired my van, and have already had great times camping around the UK in it. I am preparing to go on a trip to Portugal (leave tomorrow) and am concerned about an intermittant stalling problem I have observed. My van will sometimes cut out after I have been sitting idling at a junction and go to pull away. Yesterday it happened as I accelerated up a hill, after having just turned into the road (did not actually stop). At speed I haven't noticed this at all. It really is like someone has turned the ignition off! It starts again perfectly and happens when the engine is hot and cold. I has left me half way across junctions and in the middle of roundabouts. Drivers here in the UK are a pretty friendly bunch (always exceptions), but I have heard that Portuguese truck drivers are alot less likely to appreciate stamping on their breaks to avoid plowing through an old vanagon!!! All help greatfully recieved. p.s. Not wishing to be totally lazy I have been scouring the archives for help on this, but as time is running out really rather quickly, was forced into sending this. Thanks. Jamie. Somerset, UK. |
