Here's a cheap way to obtain front, rubber mats that are made to fit every curve of your Vanagon. I scored a complete set of rubber flooring out of a 1981 Vanagon in a junk yard. It covers the the entire front floor & auto trans cover. It has a strip for the center aisle too. There is also has a lip, all the way around which can keep water on the mats. I took the center mat, and cut it down the center, and made two front mats out of the one main one. I also kept the center aisle mat. It fit's over my carpet perfectly, and I can even anchor it on the metal firewall below the dash. Total cost was $5 bux, and it is all technically, VW OEM. Cheap, and it works. Check out your local wrecking yards. Good luck, dave :) _______________ dave bowers Portland, Oregon 1986 Westy "HMS Beagle" http://www.dave-bowers.com/vw |
