If its like the older clutches on the front engine cars, the pressure plate bolts need a 9mm 12 point socket. That's not the triple square tool used on the CV, just a normal 12 point socket. No, the bolts don't come with the kit. http://www.germanautoparts.com has an installation kit with all the other stuff you need to do the clutch right, for about $50. I have no idea why its so expensive. BTW, if you need parts for the front engine VWs, and our list vendors can't get them, two good sources (from the scirocco list) are: Adirondak auto brokers http://www.germanautoparts.com and Virtual world parts http://www.parts4vws.com Bill -------------------------------- I am tackling a clutch job on my son's '97 Golf K2 (2.0l 8-valve). I have ordered the Sach's kit and am wondering what special tools I will need. Haynes says cv joints are 6-point? 6 or 7 mm? Looks like the flywheel to pressure plate bolts are goofy. Anyone know what the socket and size is for this? Do the bolts that have to be replaced come with the kit? Why are the clutch kits 2x the $ as a Vanagon kit? Jay |
