Subject: HP Digijet ECU
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

I got one of the new HP Digijet ECUs from Boston Engine and installed it Saturday. My engine is a stock '85 1.9l (DH) engine, recently rebuilt by Boston Engine Exchange. It is just broken in with about 3500 or so miles. There is a clear hp increase. It pulls all the way through 3rd and 4th gear and has noticeably more low and mid rpm grunt. I am running 4 or 5 BTDC timing, other than that, everything else is set to stock specs. (I was running this way before the ECU switch.) I did not have to change any idle settings. The ECU is a nice looking package. Newer style plastic case, VW logo and part number right on it. Looks like a factory piece. My old ECU bracket even had extra holes to accommodate the slightly different attaching points of the new ECU. I will check gas mileage on the next few tanks and hopefully get it smogged. It is like a 2.1 upgrade in a box.

Jay
