Vinyl bra is much better. Goes on and off in minutes. I bet it would deflect some substantial rocks--it is a padded bra! I have the Colgan.

I don't know about the rest of the list membership, but the front of my van has over time had the pooty pounded out of it by flying rocks. Chips in the paint abound, most of which could have been prevented with some sort of protective cover. There are a couple that are actually dents from rocks, nothing would have stopped that.

There is a kit that may be available soon for application to the front end of the Vanagon specifically, to protect the paint somewhat. It is a heavy duty vinyl that came out on race cars sometime ago, and before that was used on helicopter rotors I believe. Kit comes precut with tools and instructions for installation.

Would like to know what the List Membership's interest would be in such a pre-cut kit.

Please reply via P-mail

TIA,

John Rodgers 88 GL Driver
