Subject: Sticky brake saga....
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed

First of all, if you have not yet picked up the $40 Radio Shack Infrared thermometer, its on sale for $39.95.

Using this wonderful tool, I noticed that on a short 5 mile trip, the temperature of my front wheel hubs were approaching 270 degrees. (The rear drums were a cool 170 degrees)

This is confirming my suspicion that the front brakes are not fully releasing. I've replaced the rotors, calipers, hoses, and master cylinder, but none has improved the situation.

Does anyone have any suggestions? The pedal feel is fine.

Could having the wheel bearings too tight cause this problem?

thanks,

Todd '88 Westy

P.S. If anyone has an East bay (Walnut Creek) area shop that they would recommend, please pass it on, I'm getting tired of fooling with this problem.
