Subject: Diesel as carb/injector cleaner?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed

Hi Volks,

I was recently buying fuel and a bottle of injector cleaner from a service station owner I know when (regarding the injector cleaner) he said:

"I really shouldn't be telling you this 'cos I want to sell injector cleaner but putting a litre or two of diesel in with the unleaded fuel when you fill up will work just as well but at a fraction of the cost"

Well I can't argue about the cost differential....Diesel in Oz is around the 90c/litre whereas a 500ml bottle of injector cleaner is usually about $10.50. He claims injector cleaner is predominately diesel anyway with a few aromatics thrown in....

I can see why this would work and I have no reason to doubt this fellow,I've known him for years, but I'm interested in opinions from the list before I (maybe) ever consider it.

Good idea?/ Bad idea?/ Ever done it?/ This guy's fulla sh*t! /Don't be so #$&*ing stupid! ...or any others you can think of...;)
