Subject:      Water Stalling?

I know this subject has come up before but I could not find it in the
archives.  When my van gets a good undercoat bath on the road it stalls
out.  I can start it again and be on my way, but what is causing this.
Whenever I take her off road and we hit water it does the same thing.  I
seem to remember this topic being discussed here, but I cant remember
what this is.  If someone could please point me in the right direction
that would be much appreciated.
