They were the last (and arguably the best) sports car that Volkswagen made. EuropeanCar magazine even ranked it (in VR6 trim) as a better car and a better buy than a Porsche 944. The G60 versions are lighter up front than then 6 cylinder version, and the 6 cylinders need to wind up a bit to have maximum power (making me question whether a VR6 is the appropriate engine for a Vanagon (inserting necessary relevance to the list...:) ) But the Corrado is still a great car. The early GTI's were lighter (and noisier) and toss about pretty well, and like all VW based on the Golf platform...INCLUDING the Corrado tend to lift their inside rear wheel at high speed in turns, but the Corrado handles as well and has a higher top speed. Though it came out at nearly the same time as the A3 Golfs, the Corrado is really based on the A2 floorpan.

However, I believe we'll just have to disagree on this.
