<DIV></DIV>Hello All: </DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>My mechanic has been trying to install an VDO Coolant
<DIV></DIV>temp gauge in my 1990...I bought the gauge and a
<DIV></DIV>T-fitting along with a 10mm screw-in sender from the
<DIV></DIV>same outfit (Egauges). It was suppose to all go
<DIV></DIV>together (so I could use both gauges)...but the
<DIV></DIV>mechanic has informed me that the original temp
<DIV></DIV>sending unit (to the dash) is a large plug type...not
<DIV></DIV>the 10mm type that would fit in one side of the T
<DIV></DIV>fitting. Any suggestions as to how I might make this
<DIV></DIV>work? Anywhere else I could screw the VDO sender into
<DIV></DIV>to get a reading on coolant?

<DIV>What U did to my 1990 was drill a hole to the coolant distributor and tap it for the sender. I did this same thing to my wife's Jetta about six years ago, not a drop lost from there. You have to remember that you have to ground the sender, otherwise it won't work. In my van the VDO is the only way to tell the coolant temp, the stock gauge stopped working a while ago. Good luck to you.</DIV>
