Bill: the '87 Syncro I now have was converted to TIICO 18 months ago by Ed Rogers of VEE DUB Service in Ogden, UT at 801-392-0212. He used a steel mesh section between the header pipe and exhaust pipe to allow for flex in the system. I'm guessing your muffler/exhaust section is rigidly attached to the header (welded) and what the engine clamps to and what the muffler/pipe clamp to are different parts of the engine bay and so ask to be cracked/broken. If the muffler/tail pipe were somehow attached to a bracket on the engine, evrything would "move" together and not create flex. Call Ed, he has done 4 or 5 of these since this one so has some good experience. Nice man, helpful if a little dry. Bob Stevens http://groups.msn.com/BobsPhotoShare
