Mike, BTDT. Consider an S&S Headers system. $280 (when I bought it) complete except for the cat. I bolted one up to my '87 2.1 WBX about 1.5 years ago. I believe I even posted the installation findings. If memory serves, they're at http://www.ssheaders.com/, but the list vendors also have them (again, last time I checked, which was 2 years ago). Some folks have reported problems with the slip fits and stuff not bolting up right, but I had only minor problems. Ultimately, it all went on and functions just fine. Will it last as long as the SS muffler & pipes? No. But kinda like all the fancy engine conversions, I can do a lot of head gaskets for the price of a Frankenstein engine. -Karl Karl & Kristina Bloss - Hurricane, WV '85 Westfalia Camper "Fred" '87 Westy Weekender "Bev" For Sale: http://members.citynet.net/bloss/vw/ '93 Eurovan MV (yet to be named) http://WVVW.ORG "Bound to cover just a little more ground..." |
