Bob: 3M makes a Roloc Tool for your electric drill called an "Adhesive and pin striping removal" tool. It's a bunch of white plastic discs that flex when pressured at high speed. They work wonderfully. Less than $15 for the whole kit and available at most any lar5ger auto body parts place.
