It's an 84 I recently purchased. The alternator rattled and it had been rubbing the water crossover tube long enough to cause it to begin to leak. I went in to tighten the bolts and repair the pipe but the two bolt holes in the block which hold on the alternator bracket are stripped - either over tightened or because the bolts rattled around a little too long. Anyone else have this problem, and if so, what did you do to remedy it? Those holes couldn't be more than a half inch deep. Thanks! Ron Putt |
