I was thinking about the coolant tower - the plastic "T" that sits
behind the starter. There is one end that is not connected to anything
that if you could tap the plastic, you could just screw the sensor in
there - however I don't know how leakproof it would be.

I suppose you could use one of the drain plugs in the heads as well -
but you would have to clearance the engine tin.
