Robert - I've got one of these - a 1990 just as you described - wall-to-wall rubber mats, metal dash, basic vent/heat controls with only 3 sliders, locking rear diff. Also... no vent windows, no tach (well, I added one), gray all-vinyl trim panels (no cloth inserts), and a tweedy gray/red/blue/black cloth (not velour) interior. I don't know if yours had AC - mine does - the big overhead tunnel right down the center of the roof, and mine also had two rear-facing jumpseats and full-width fold out bed with outer shoulder belts and no headrests. Also... no chrome at all outside - all window trim is black, and bumpers (metal) are painted black.

I really like it - nice and simple.

Chris Turner describes these vans as the "Non-GL" vans. Interior-wise, they are most similar to panel vans or pickups, neither sold in the US.

Dave - The "metal" dash had padding just along the top edge, not all over the entire thing like the GL models. It also doesn't have that raised section in front of the passenger, nor does it have a courtesy light over the glove box.

By the way - if anyone has a trim plate for these "basic" heat/vent controls - meaning three levers top to bottom: dash/window vent control, heat control, floor vent control - I'm looking for one - mine is cracked and missing one of the nubs on the back - pls. p-mail if you've got one.
