<P>Well after you give up on the dealer you can try my fix. I also have an 87 Syncro and the same thing happened. After trying super glue and various epoxys, I finally found success with a hot glue gun. It is now bomb proof. I have off roaded in Moab and other locations, tunnels are still up and solid. You need to reinstall the tunnels from the rear to the front. This will allow access to the screws as you go. Yes you will need to drop the very front duct with the controls. This job is best done with a helper (or in my case a wife!). Good luck!</P>
