Just a month or so ago, i installed a set of clarion speakers in my '84, which have a protruding grill by about 3/8" (or something normal). My solution was to simply bend the handle out by the required amount. Clamp the base, and gently tug outward. The knob you grab has enough slop that you can't even tell the meteal has been bent. There might be an issue with a small scraping of the handle on the speaker grill where i bent one handle just a little too little, but if i end up caring i can fix it easily enough. Ron's way is probably a bit cleaner, though. just FYI, -Damon The Bus Depot wrote:Thanks to some part number sleuthing by list member Maynard Southard, I now have a window crank handle extension kit on my website.

This moves the window crank handles about 1/2" away from the doors, allowing you to use aftermarket speakers, which typically have protruding grills that interfere with the window crank. (I describe the spacing as 1/4" on my site but actually it is closer to 1/2".)
