Listee David Beierl has written extensivley about the flashing coolant light. Should be in the archives.

The 'extended flashing coolant light' culprit according to david is the capacitor in the coolant gauge itself. It gets leaky with age and is worse with high humidity.

Do the later Vans have a flashing oil pressure light?
