On the 1.9 engine there is a block off plate on the front side of the left head (driver's side). I think this would be an ideal place to install the sender for a coolant temp. gauge and possibly a pressure gauge. It is a flat plate that is attached with two bolts and a gasket. It would be pretty easy to drill and tap this for a pipe thread sender. There may be room to install a second tapped hole for the pressure gauge (0-20 psi?). Sometime before my next coolant change I will make a plate with one or two tapped holes. All electronic gauges would be best, with no worrying about flexing lines for the pressure gauge.
