Tom, Guess my email signature is a bit telegraphic.

It's a tip of the shifter to the list's help about my summer quandry over the best spot to attach cupholders. Fellow listees advised two spots: on the aisle-side of the passenger seat or on the heater outlet panel that's just forward of the shifter (betweent the floor and radio). Since I need two holders, the aisle spot was out--especially since some listees noted that it was easy to kick them passing to and fro. Folks also advised that in attaching to the plastic heater-duct panel, I should use fender-washers on the backside to spread the weight.

But the key breakthrough was discovering that the whole heater duct panel will slide out, enabling me to do the drilling and attaching at my workbench instead of on my back in the van.

-- Nolan 87 Westy "Hanz" Thanks to listees' advice, now sporting... ... genuine cupholders attached to the heater-outlet panel and a crisply chopped, table-clearing closet door
