Subject: Aux 12 volt socket location suggestions--87 Westy?
Content-type: text/plain; charset=Windows-1252

Venerable listees,

I just finished setting up my aux battery (Optima dual terminal yellow top) in my 1987 Westy under the driver's seat. Next step is adding a 12-volt socket powered by the aux battery.

Can anyone describe their ideal location for such a socket? My first choice would be just above the shore power (120V) outlet, but I can't figure out how to route the wire to the "secret" compartment from the driver's side battery box. I can route the wire as far as the top left side of the fridge but no further. I would prefer not to have to pull the fridge, drill more holes in the van's underbody, or drill unsightly holes in the cabinets to add the socket there; cabinet holes behind the scenes are ok. Solutions to this problem or other possible locations/experiences?

TIA,

Al (aka Allison) 87 Westy Yellow Topped
