Hi Bob,

What I did was to disassemble the cap completely. Then insert your key and you'll see the plastic "stops" that preventing your key from working. I took a file and filed them flush and reassembled the cap and it now works with the original key. The only noticeable difference is that when the cap is off the key seems a little loose but it still holds the key in.

Just got this from one of our online vendors. Does anyone know if there is a better way (read less expensive) of getting it keyed rather than dealership. It has a lock core in it but the po didn't have the key for it so I don't either. Any suggestions. Bob Stevens '87 Syncro Westy
