Hi David:

Sorry if I was unclear. I meant that my tank fits between the left side to right side cross members. All tanks have a lip that should get within 3/16-1/8 inch from the longitudinal frame members (left/right). The 3/16-1/8 is approximately the thickness of the rubber shims that came on the old tank.

It was the side to side cross member supports that were bent and needed to move to allow the tank to go all the way up.
