Had a few replys off the list as well as this one. Thanks Hector.

It has been decided that you push the seal into the face of the case only. I also am using a seal adhesive to help hold the seal in place. My seal is aftermarket and not VW equipment. The seal is supple and flexible the one I removed was hard and had a double lip. It's not VW equipment either. A mechanic installed it earlier.

John Patton told me to put patrolium jelly on the spring behind the seal so that the spring doesn't pop out when installing the torque converter. Interesting idea, I think I'll try it.

Then one last thing I forgot about which I'll have to read up on some more. When putting the torque converter back in, it need to be full of A/T fluid. I thought the A/T pumping system would pump the torque converter back full. Silly me, thanks for the reminder Hector.

If anyone has any more hints or not so obvious directions I would love to hear.

Thanks, Blake Heinlein http://members.accessbee.com/heinlein/
