I don't want to have to use a key to listen to my stereo. Gee, I have two
batteries. The stereo could be left on all night.

But then you run the risk of running down the battery if you forget
to turn off your stereo after reaching home.
Better yet, use that "key in the ignition switch" wire from the
ignition switch to turn on and off a relay that powers the stereo.
All you have to do is put your key in the ignition switch and the
stereo will be powered up. Power is killed when you remove the key.
