Hi Clay. I believe that the headlight switch, the one in the dash, is due for replacement. The dash switch carries all of the headlight current. A good Sat project is to wire in a couple of relays to handle the current and have the switch just control the relay.

Mine failed completely out on Rt 80 in PA. It actually melted and started to smolder. I jumpered the switch with some spare wire that I carry in the van and made it home. It did help that we carry a Bentley and a DVM in the van as well.
