I have a beach mat that I use outside my sliding door when I camp that keeps the dirt out of the van. Its stored size is about 12" x 16" x 3" but opens to 5' x 7'. It,s made from a open woven plastic fiber.

Mine gets used a lot as a creeper/ground cover when working on the van and as a rear seat and mattress cover/protector when I carry furniture or other large objects in the back of the van.

I got mine on-line, but Target usually has them for under $15.00.

I will be picking up a 7' x 9' mat to use under my awning from http://www.rvmat.com/htmats.htm that is made from the same material.

Thanks,
