Is that it?>> Don't worry, it will come out . . . once you crack it loose. I used to use a wrench I made dedicated for this job. Now, I still use the wrench, but I first drop the protection rails. The time spent dropping the rails is more than recovered by the ease of doing the job and cleaning up the mess. <<Also, looks to me like some sort of pump with flexable hose to refill would be the easiest? >> You don't need a pump; you just need a hose long enough to snake to the outside from the depths of the Underworld and some patience.
