the exhausts on both of my jettas, currently being dismantled, both will move up enough to hit the frame ( about 4 inches at the end. when the engines start you can see a torque movement of about 3/4 inch at the engine. move that leverage down to an exhaust joint that doesnt flex and it will snap. this torque movement was noted on starting engine not while engine was running. the vehicle with failing engine mounts flexes over an inch. not sure how these will translate over to A2/A3 engines in the vanagons though. jimt On Monday, Sep 30, 2002, at 15:18 America/Denver, Bill Marshall wrote:
