I have an older Clarion system in my van with a 5.8" monitor mounted on a articulated arm above the rear table. http://home.earthlink.net/~tjhannink/photos/Rear_Seat_Monitor.jpg

I have a system layout here: (http://home.earthlink.net/~tjhannink/AV_System_Diagram_and_Product_Specs.htm) with all the product specs and interconnecting cables. I don't have many photos of the installed system, because you can't see anything but the headend unit up front and the monitor is really hard to see when it is stowed in front of the flourescent light.

Future plans include a Playstation 2 and a Jensen XM Satellite radio.

I have a laptop which I usually carry on trips.

Instead of a GPS, I have a compass-indoor/outdoor thermometer in place of the rear view mirror (http://home.earthlink.net/~tjhannink/photos/PNI_Compass_Thermometer.jpg). In fact, I just finished hardwiring the power for it to the circuit for the passenger side vanity mirror a couple of minutes ago.

I think that the Clarion Joyride system (http://www.clarion.com/joyride.htm) would be worth taking a look at. Clarion does a really good job of integrating components so they can all be controlled by the headend unit and its associated remote control.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
