Subject:      Question about replacing the Fiberglass tops for Westy's  84-8?

I have the choice of either gel coating for a smooth finish my old top or purchasing a new on.
I am considering new pieces for the top in hopes that the newer tops on the Eurovan Camper that are lower in profile may fit on  the 84-8? Westy.   I think they look better and may slightly reduce wind drag.  I usually leave the bed folded down and noticed the extra clearance and wondered if this would work.

Any vendor information, comments or suggestions would be much appreciated

PS: I am very grateful this community, through it I have acquired information on engines, transaxles, sway bars, rims, tires, techniques to stabilize handling and windy days and body parts.  One story especially worth noting.  A gentlemen in S.F. took the trouble to visit a junkyard, take pictures of Van, arrange to have a piece cut, cover the cost of cutting until my check arrived in the mail and offered to drive it down to So. CA for the cost of his Gas.  He would not accept any fees for the service.  I am still taken back by his kindness.

Due to this community ownership and restoration of my Vanagon has taken on special meaning
