I was amazed that my little air cooled machine was able to more or less keep up to Frank Condelli and Joel Cort, each of whom's rides had roughly 50% more horsepower than Pokey. Regretably, most of the credit has to go to the Air Cooled Beetles the two of them were stuck behind. It kept them from opening up. That said, I was very pleased to completely leave the 1980 westy completely in the dust, no doubt my wider lower profile Michelin Agilis 51's (216/65-15 vs. 185/82-14) had a lot to do with it. We are already talking about next year, I'd recomend anyone within a day's drive of the area come out next year. The track time was a hoot, and Watkins Glen State Park is a beautiful camping destination (photos on my website in about two weeks).
